Many University of Arizona departments provide educational programs that support hazing prevention by promoting leadership, development, student well-being, bystander intervention, organizational excellence, and healthy campus communities.

Fraternity & Sorority Programs
At least 80% of each new member class must complete the Hazing Prevention (Student Training) available in EDGE Learning. Chapters that do not meet the 80% completion requirement by the deadline will be assessed a one-time $500 fine and placed on bad standing status until the required completion threshold has been met.
All fraternities and sororities must file this form with FSP within the first 3 weeks of each semester to certify compliance with this policy.
Through this impactful program, parents share personal stories about how hazing has affected their families, creating a powerful call to action for students. The program builds awareness of hazing's lasting impacts while emphasizing prevention, ethical leadership, and creating organizations rooted in belonging rather than harmful traditions.
Following the Love, Mom & Dad program, new member educators participate in a facilitated discussion with Fraternity & Sorority Programs staff to reflect on key takeaways and identify practical strategies for preventing hazing. The session reinforces ethical leadership, accountability, and creating meaningful new member experiences without hazing.
Future Wildcat Families
Future Wildcat Families supports the University's hazing prevention efforts by educating and empowering families before their students arrive on campus. Through their communications and informational webinars, they provide families with resources that encourage healthy student involvement and awareness of campus support services, including the University’s anti-hazing policy.
Help families understand the importance of discussing student well-being, belonging, and making safe choices, encouraging these conversations early. We also connect families to university resources and encourage them to familiarize themselves with student organizations, campus expectations, and reporting resources should concerns arise.
Student Engagement & Traditions (SET)
At least one officer from each recognized SET student club or organization is required to complete the EDGE Learning Hazing Prevention training.
Advisors for recognized SET student club or organizations are also required to complete the EDGE Learning Hazing Prevention training.
National Hazing Prevention Week
Each year, the University of Arizona recognizes National Hazing Prevention Week through a campus-wide awareness campaign designed to educate the Wildcat community about hazing prevention. The campaign features educational programs, social media outreach, newsletters, and downloadable resources that promote hazing awareness, reporting options, and strategies for creating healthy, inclusive, and hazing-free organizations.
