The Hazing Prevention Coalition offers interactive training opportunities for students, faculty, staff, advisors, and campus organizations. Trainings are designed to increase awareness of hazing, identify warning signs, clarify reporting responsibilities, and equip participants with practical strategies to prevent hazing and build healthy organizational cultures.

Request a Prevention Training
To schedule a Hazing Prevention Coalition training, complete the Hazing Prevention Training Request Form. Trainings can be tailored to the needs of your audience and are available for student organizations, academic departments, residence life, campus offices, and other university groups.
Online Student Training
Designed for students, this Hazing Prevention Training educates participants on the essential aspects of hazing by exploring current University and state hazing policies, reporting expectations, legal considerations, definitions, common behaviors, and the individual and community impacts of hazing. Participants learn how to recognize hazing, understand their role in preventing it, and gain confidence in how to report concerns. Topics include ethical leadership, bystander intervention, fostering accountability, and practical approaches for creating cohesive, values-based groups without relying on hazing.
Online Faculty/Staff Training
This training equips all University of Arizona employees with the knowledge and tools to recognize, prevent, and respond to hazing. Participants will review current university and state hazing policies, reporting responsibilities and processes, and their role in creating a safe campus environment. This training also introduces prevention strategies including bystander intervention, ethical leadership, and fostering health cohesive organizations without hazing. The University of Arizona provides this training in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act, as well as in the spirit of the university's Hazing Policy and our values.
Bystander Intervention Training
Step UP! is an evidence-based bystander intervention program that empowers participants to recognize situations where someone may need help and safely intervene before harm occurs. Because hazing often involves bystanders, this training builds the confidence and skills needed to take action, support others, and help create a safer campus community.
